Is It Safe To Safe To Withdraw Coveram After Drop In BP Level?
Hello.. I have been on coveram 5/10 for almost two months and my blood pressure has dropped considerably. In the meantime, I dropped my weight from 83 kg to 78 and feeling much better, I am also following a healthy diet and running average of 10 km every weekend. Can I stop coveram and continue with my healthy diet and exercising
As per my clinical experience, the Coveram contains calcium channel blockeramlodipine with arginine as active ingredients to control the blood pressure in various clinical set up by expert physicians. It is the intensive and vigorous exercises which has led to weight loss
The withdrawal of tablet is matter of clinician decision and many of the times, sudden stoppage of the medicine may pause issue with rebound hypertension. Hence it is strongly recommended to consult your doc for tapering programme for the particular anti-hypertensive medicine.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
