Is It Safe To Switch From Concerta To Ritalin Sr For ADHD?
Hi, I am currently on Ritalin sr 20 mg. I was taking concerta 27 I think for about a month but it was to expensive. The pharmacist said that Ritalin sr 20 mg would be a good replacement and more affordable for me. So my doctor agreed the pharmacist took me off concerta put me on Ritalin sr 20 mg. the first few days were great but I find that the Ritalin wears off by 2 or 3 in the afternoon if I take it in the morning...I would like to last a bit longer than it does, and my focus and concentration are about 70% . What affordable adhd medication that last longer and helps my concentration more?
As per my clinical experience: @ The Concerta is combination of Methylphenidate and Amphetamine acting as CNS stimulant with excellent clinical response in case of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder @ While the Ritalin is containing only methylphenidate and hence is less efficacious as compared to Concerta * No specific molecule changes can be entertained from this platform due to certain facts; considering the raising of dose of Ritalin SR with your consultant is best recommended strategy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
