Is It Safe To Switch From Numlo-S To Olmesmart For High BP?
i m patient of high bp doctor advised me snumulo 5mg for 2yrs and my bp was 160| 90 after that it has reduced to 140|90 then he reduceed the dosge to numulo s 2.5 mg and my bp unfortunately was showing 150 |80 and he has chnged my med to olmesmart 20 but i was confortable with the last med should i continue with the old med or the new one now im sugar patient too so which med should i continue
The efficacy of Stamlo and Olmesartan is almost similar in controlling the high B.P. However, Olmesartan is better in achieving the target goals of systolic and diastolic BP. Also as, Stamlo is a calcium channel blocker, it may reduce the release of insulin from beta cells resulting in hyperglycemia, thus affecting the level of blood sugar in patients and particularly in diabetic patients. Therefore, due to this reason, your doctor might have rightly prescribed you Olmesartan in place of Stamlo.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
