I have been treated for high blood pressure for 9 years. Recently went through a complete cardiac workup including a sleep study. Was taking metaprolol but was recently switched to diltiazen. My doctor at my last visit added losartan and I m concerned that this could lower my b/p even more and that concerns me. I don t know why he switched these medications. I maintain a b/p of about 135/70 with the diltiazen and was maintaining the same while on metaprolol. Had been taking Hydrochlorothiazide with the metaprolol but resulted in painful gout episodes. Have not had any blood work done before these meds were switched. Should I be concerned about drug interaction or my b/p being lower than it should be?
