Have started taking Zoloft a week ago. Was on 25mg for 4 days and it seemed to work for me with some slight sleep issues. Doctor then upped me to 50mg and since then have been having insomnia getting 2-4 hours sleep per night. Took temazapam last night to help me sleep and still woke up at 3am. I want to reduce Zoloft back to 25mg as feel comfortable with that. Thoughts?
Hello, Zoloft is basically an antidepressant and not used to induce sleep. This drugs belong to a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. These drugs can cause even insomnia sometimes. Usually these are not prescribed in night. But there may be an inyer-individual variation regarding insomnia caused by these drugs.
Comin to your query, if you are comfortable with zoloft 25mg, you can continue with same dose. You can try tablet ativan for sleep.
Please talk to your doctor about this.
Thanks.
