Is It Safe To Take ATT Drugs For Long Term For Conceiving?
my ESR was detected at 40, my husband and I are trying to have a baby. I had regular periods till 2 months back, but then i missed periods for around 50 days. in which i was not pregnant. My husband s motality rate was low, and he was put on medication. All other tests were normal.. T3 TSH etc everything as per the reports were normal. The doctor asked to get HSG done in which the lab said the spillage is normal but he saw something in the images... After which he has prescribed me with ATT drugs for a duration of 6 months. during the 2nd month he plans to go ahead with IUI. I am worried i am being asked to take ATT drugs, should I go ahead or go for second opnion? is it safe to take a 6 month ATT drug dose without thinking?
In my opinion we should do more testing to establish diagnosis of TB before starting ATT. This includes a chest X-ray, Mantoux testing and testing specimens from uterus. Kindly take a second opinion before starting.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
