Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can you take aleve and tylenol together. My gfriend just injured her knee, probably torn meniscus. She has been taking Aleve to help reduce inflammation but she is in a lot of pain and icing does not seem to stop the throbbing. Would it be okay to take Tylenol with it or perhaps IBprofin?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Ina Zaimi's Response
Hello,
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
For short term, paracetamol (Tylenol) and naproxen (Aleve) can be used simultaneously. In fact it is offten recommanded to alternate the NSAID medications like ibuprofene or naproxen with paracetamol for better coverage. However, this is not advisable for a long term pain issue.
Wishing your girlfriend a speedy recovery.
