Is It Safe To Take Apo-clarithomycin While Suffering From Pneumonia?
I was on co-levofloxacin 500 mg for 7 days, 2 days after i still had infection in my spit so went to Dr. in a walk in ( my Dr. is away ) he gave me apo-clarithromycin 500 XL X 2 a day. I m prone to pheumonia, also have copd and am on oxygen. My infection is almost gone had i taken the first medication for 10 days rather than 7 i m sure my infection would be gone, would it be safe to take this later pills only for 3 days or so, or maybe take 1 a day. Thank you
As per my clinical experience, the clarithromycin is a macrolide group of antibiotic used for various clinical conditions. There are many clinical uses of clarithromycin, the common one is respiratory tract infections and stomach ulcer. It is mandatory to complete 3 days course as prescribed by your treating doctor, rather than taking only 1 day dose, which may lead to drug sensitivity, low threshold response or resistance to future benefits. Kindly complete the 3 days therapy and ask your physician if any further back up is mandatory in this direction.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
