Is It Safe To Take Benezapril And Oxybutynin To Control BP?
I am taking 40 mg Benezapril for Bloood pressure control. I also take oxybutynin and a baby aspirin. If I take ibuprofen I occasionally get light headed and my blood pressure drops dramatically. I was taking the ibprophen for arthritis in my back. Am I on the right track for illuminating the light headed ness by stopping the ibuprofen? y doctor has switched my BP medication a few times however that hasn t helped.
- Ibuprofen should not alter your BP or cause or hide the lightheadedness. It is possible that the dosage of the Benezapril is higher than you need and is causing periodic drops in your BP. - Make sure that whenever you get up from a lying down or sitting position you do so slowly with some support. - If these episodes happen frequently, reach out to your primary care physician and talk to him about decreasing the dose of your BP meds.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
