Is It Safe To Take Cefalexin Tablet For Urine Infection?
I am 39 weeks 5 days pregnant i have been put on cefalexin tablets for a urine infection however the outside of my vagina has become very sore and the inside is itchy with abit of stinging when i urinate. I spoke with a midwife who says it sounds like thrush qnd that i should use canasten cream it does not seem to have made a difference if anything it feels worse what else can i do.

I would like to suggest you that don't take any kind of medications without consulting your gynec and confirming the diagnosis. Go for urine routine and micro examination and if it finds plenty of pus cells, then only take antibiotics like norfloxacin after consulting a doctor.
If any kind of vaginal discharge is there, then only there are chances of thrush and don't take any medications by yourself, rather consult your gynec. I would also suggest you to take plenty of liquids and keep your private parts clean with soap water. If vagina is sore and itchy, then you need to consult your gynec as soon as possible.
