Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Safe To Take Cipro After Taking Blood Pressure Medicine?
I was supposed to take cipro and Valium before bed, but by accident I took cipro and amlodipine besylate. I already took the blood pressure medicine around 10 am today. Can I still take the cipro? And what about my blood pressure, will it go too low. Should I take it again at 10 am tomorrow or what should I do?
What I understood from the given history is that at 10 am you took amlodipine then at bed time instead of taking valium along with ciproflox you took amlodipine again by mistake.
Taking an extra tablet of amlodipine after 12 hours usually may not cause any symptoms. You can take the next dose of amlodipine at 10 am next day.
However sometimes it may cause your blood pressure to become low. You must contact your doctor if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, faint or weak.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
