Hi and thanks for asking us on HCM.
Cystone is capable of preventing formation of
kidney stones and may dissolve existing stones. It also helps in treating symptoms of a
urinary tract infection and might soothe an irritated bladder. However, it may not alleviate the
abdominal pain that you might be experiencing. If severe, you may need to take a painkiller.
What type of stone do you have? There is no single list of fruits and veges to avoid.
If you have a calcium stone, it does not mean you need to cut out calcium from your diet. You need to cut back on sodium instead. Extra sodium in your diet causes you to excrete more calcium, and this puts you at risk for calcium stones.
Oxalate is found in many healthful foods - peanuts, rhubarbs, beets, spinach and chocolate are just a few examples. You cannot avoid all oxolate food. Studies have shown that pairing oxalate-rich foods with calcium-rich foods will reduce the likelihood of stone formation.
Uric acid foods come from foods rich in purine such as red meat, organ meats and shellfish. If this is the type of stone you are forming, cut back on these. Eat a health diet rich in fresh veges and fruits, whole grains and low fat milk. Be sure to drink enough water.
Hope this helps
