Is It Safe To Take Cytomel And Armour While Taking Synthroid Despite Having BP?

I had thyroid cancer 17 years ago and have been only on synthroid since having my thyroid removed. I am now having blood pressure issues that i feel have stemmed from only being on t4 and stressing my adrenals. It is like a domino effect with the endocrine system. Once you have an issue {thyroid} then adrenals and pituitary seem to have issues. I feel i need to try cytomel with my synthroid or switch to Armour and it will greatly help my blood pressure issue from everything i have researched. What do you think?

Hi,

Cytomel (liothyronine) and Armor (thyroid extract) are both alternative thyroid hormone replacement therapies that can be used in combination with or instead of Synthroid (levothyroxine), depending on the individual patient's needs.

However, adding Cytomel or switching to Armor can affect your thyroid hormone levels and potentially worsen your blood pressure, so it is important to monitor your blood pressure closely and adjust your medications as needed under the guidance of your healthcare provider.

Additionally, some patients may not tolerate Cytomel or Armor well due to side effects or individual sensitivities, so it is important to discuss all potential risks and benefits with your doctor before making any changes to your medication regimen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
