I am 5weeks pregnant and went to see my gynae and the doc prescribed me with Duphaston.I came back and did some online research and quite taken aback to read some conflicting views. Some doctors believe it could harm the foetus.Iam really worried...This is my first pregnancy and so far i have no spotting and no history of miscarriage..
Hello dear Understand your concern Duphaston contain progesterone hormone supplements. It is used to maintain pregnancy in low progesterone pregnancy, help in fetal growth and prevent the miscarriage. Because of progesterone it make the uterine environment more favorable for fetal growth. So your pregnancy may be risk for low progesterone according to your doctor, that's why he gave you duphaston. It is completely safe and continue according to your doctor advice with regular follow up for fetal growth. Take healthy diet, lot sof fluid, prevent exertion and adequete rest. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
