Hi,
Duromine (phentermine) is a medication used for short-term weight loss in people who are obese. It is important to note that phentermine is a stimulant and can interact with other medications, including those used for thyroid disorders and rheumatoid arthritis.
Methotrexate, which is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, can potentially interact with Duromine. The combination of methotrexate and Duromine may increase the risk of liver toxicity. Additionally, Duromine can increase blood pressure and heart rate, which can be a concern for people with rheumatoid arthritis who already have an increased risk of heart disease.
Eutroxsig (levothyroxine) treats an underactive thyroid. There is no known interaction between Eutroxsig and Duromine. However, both medications can affect heart rate and blood pressure, so it is important to monitor these parameters while taking Duromine. It is crucial to talk to your healthcare provider before taking Duromine while on these medications. Your healthcare provider may also suggest alternative weight loss strategies that do not involve medication.
