Hi,

Though Epimedium has not any frequent interaction with valsartan, still it is known to cause a fall in the BP. Hence in some of the patients using anti-hypertensive drugs (Including valsartan), it may result in a more lowered BP. Therefore, in such patients, the dose of anti-hypertensive drugs may have to be lowered for a desired BP level. Also, maca, has no known inter-action with valsartan. Both the herbal products (epimedium as well as maca) have minimal or no side effects and hence appear to be safe for use with valsartan except the BP lowering effect of epimedium.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
