Is It Safe To Take Flecainide Long Term?
I am a 62 year old man who is taking 50 mgs of flecinaid twice a day. I have not had a major fibrillation since taking it. However when I do try to reduce it I get increased flutters which are very inconvenient as I am a teacher. Are there any long term consequences of taking this drug for the rest of my life? I can understand your concern.
i would suggest you not to reduce the dose which you have been taking. 50 mg twice daily would be just ideal for you. it can be increased if required ut it should not be reduced.
there will not be any major side effects with this drug.
occational loose motions,slight light headedness, nausea can be seen in a few cases but not in all cases.
you can therefore continue the medication without any fear.
