Is It Safe To Take Foltanx While Taking Neurontin For Peripheral Neuropathy?
I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy @10 years ago. I have tried lyrica (no help). Now I am taking generic Neurontin, 300 mg. 6 tabs a day and foltx 2 tabs a day(which my medical plan just told me that I cannot take anymore since it was removed from the formulary list). my pain doctor wrote me an RX for foltanx, which I don t know if it s on the accepted list. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Foltanx is L-Methylfolate with B Vitamins. Neurontin is gabapentin. No interactions were found between gabapentin and L-Methylfolate. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist. In case you are experiencing some side effects you are suggested to consult your healthcare provider or report to your treating doctor.
Avoid taking aluminum or magnesium containing products (such as antacids) for 2 hours before you take Gabapentin (neurontin). Foltanx is given to help growth and good health. You can re- consult your treating doctor for the prescription medicine.
