Hi.I ve been on low dose methadone(10mg daily)for 2 monthes. On the 20th I noticed it didn t seem to be helping with the pain.On the 21st The second 5 mg dose seemed to make the pain worse. On the 22nd I reduced the dosage to 2.5 mg in the morning and then 2.5 later. After the 2nd dose the pain got worse again and I experienced breathing problems.Today(the 23rd I have not taken any and seem to be fine. Will it be ok to just stop like that as I am afraid to take any more.

Hello sir,
Good morning,
First of all I introdue methadone...
Methadone is opoid analogue n used in pain reliever also...it is also used in other situation...
It works on opoid receptor (mu,kappa)...
Now it may be your receptor are fully tolarated so you may higher dose for same effect...
Due to this effect it has addictive effect also...
N it's one of famous side effect is respiratory depression...may be you had that so you had breathing problems...
So I suggest changd the drug for pain relief n for that you have to consult your physcian...
Thank you,
Regards
