Is It Safe To Take Methocarbamol For Pain In Chest And Back?

My Doctor gave me a prescription named Methocarbam (genertic forRobaxin) for pain when I was having chest pain and back pain. Could you tell me if this medicine is safe to take or is there very many side effects that will make me sick.? I have taken two of them, and they don t seem to help. Could you tell me what I should do?

Hi,

You should get baseline EKG and chest X-ray to rule out cardiac or chest related cause of your symptoms, if normal instead of taking Methocarbamol, you may start with simple OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen alongside muscle relaxants like Orphenidine or Tizaindine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
