Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

I have seen the list of medications your dad is taking, and found the following drug-drug interactions and I want to inform you these interactions by dividing them in two groups:-

***     More Serious drug-drug interactions, I recommend using alternatives by asking the treating physician:

1. Omeprazole decreases the levels of duloxetine and life threatening interaction possible. Needs close monitoring.
2. Methylprednisolone will decrease the levels of Lovastatin and may cause very serious interactions and needs close monitoring to avoid any life threatening effects. (This is the answer to your main question).

***     Less serious but important enough, and need close monitoring is needed:
1.Methylprednisolone will decrease the levels and pharmacological effects of the Abilify and may cause serious effects (This is the answer to your main question)
2. Methylprednisolone may decrease the effects of Januvia. Needs proper monitoring. (This is the answer to your main question)
3. Carbidopa increases the levels of Bisoprolol and may need dosage adjustment for Bisoprolol.
4. Abilify and Januvia when given together, Blood glucose level monitoring is very important for risk of hyperglycemia.
5. Duloxetine may increase the levels of Abilify. Monitoring needed.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Have a wonderful time ahead. Keep in touch for a follow-up too. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-muhammad-hanif/70199
