Is It Safe To Take Naltrexone Along With Tramadol?

What is the effect of taking Naltrexone and Tramadol? A dentist prescribed tramadol when he knew I was taking Naltrezone. I am in extreme pain in my mouth from an abscessed tooth & need help, but I now read/ know those drugs should not be taken together.

Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Naltrexone and tramadol do interact with each other, so it is better to avoid both of them together. Instead of taking tramadol take other over the counter pain killers like Tylenol or ibuprofen. Dose of 500 mg taken thrice daily (same for both the drugs) for 4 days, followed by twice a day of same dose for next 2 days will reduce pain and inflammation. Do salt water gargle thrice a day with warm water will also be very helpful. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
