Is It Safe To Take Nasonex For Inflamed Membranes In Nostril?

My four year old son was diagnosed recently with having inflamed membranes in his nostril which in turn was responsible for sleep apnea. I was prescribed Nasonex spray and it was recommended that i use same for one month. five weeks have since gone by, i see no improvement. Should i have the ENT test him for asthma

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Asthma has very specific symptoms which do not correspond with what your son has. So if you son has only sleep apnea and not shortness of breath episodes, then your son does not need to be tested for asthma. Instead, if your son is not getting better by the medicine he is using for more than 1 month, then you should see his doctor again so he can reevaluate him and recommend another treatment that will benefit your son.
