Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 47 years old. I am suffering from Gastric problem for the last 5 years. In 2010 my Doctor advice me to take Normaxin for 3 months and the result is good. I feel better. But it started again after five months and I started taking Normaxin without consulting my Doctor and I have been taking in regular interval till today. I get good relief by taking normaxin , my query is how long can one take this medicine safely?,
Kindly avoid taking drugs without consulting your doctor. Normaxin should not be more than 3 to 4 months since side effects can occur. The most common side effects are nausea, constipation, nervousness, dryness in mouth, difficulty in urination, confusion, weakness, blurred vision, and coordination impaired.
Consult with your doctor in case you experience any of these side effects.Lifestyle and diet modification should also be done to reduce gastric problems in the long run.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
