Is It Safe To Take Simavastatin 20mg Along With Amlodipine 5mg?

I was just prescribed Amlodipine 5mg daily and have been taking 20mg Simvastatin daily. My doctor mentioned that it may be good to switch to another statin because of interaction issues but did not make the change. I see that 20mg Simvastatin is a limit with Amiodipine. Should I return to my doctor to have another statin prescribed or is the 20mg dose safe with the CCB?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Simvastatin when taken orally increases levels of amlodipine by drug interaction. So Simvastatin should be replace by another statin, as also mentioned by your doctor

Don't worry you would be fine
Hoping your query is solved
