Is It Safe To Take Steroids And Erythromycin For Painful Papule On Back Of Tongue?

Raised papule on back of tongue looks like wart. Very painful and swollen throat. My neck is very sore to even touch can't hardly swallow. Nurse practitioner tx me for sinusitis but i dont have sinus pain nor headaches. Gave me a shot of steroids and erythromycin 3 days ago no significant changes. What should i do

As per your query you have papule at the back of the tongue along with sore throat and pailful also . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as sore throat . There can be many reasons for sore throat , it can be caused by virus as well as bacteria . If caused by virus then it will go away by its own without any treatment ,if its no noting away by its own then it require anti viral medicine and if bacterial then it needs proper antibiotics course . But it seems to me that your one is viral . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order tesrt like throat swab test and viral culture test to confirm the examination and rule out condition like strep throat ,granular pharyngitis and inflammation of taste buds . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs like acyclovir or anti bacterial along with anti inflammatory . As steroids and erythromycin are prescribed medicine , do not take then without the prescription of doctor .
