Is It Safe To Take Tamiflu For An HIV Positive Patient?
Hi I've been prescribed Tamiflu after being exposed to Influenza B. I do not have any symptoms and I just got the flu shot 17 days ago. I'm HIV positive with a t cell count of about 800 and a zero viral load. I'm worried about taking Tamiflu. I also have Avascular Necrosis. Should I have any concern ?
Detailed answer, 1. You mentioned that you are hiv positive and now developed flu 17 days back 2. The result such as viral load is negligible and the CD4 count is 800 are very good result 3. You can use Tamiflu for Influenza B virus infection. 4. There is no drug interaction between tamiflu and the medications using for hiv so it is safe to use
Hope this information helps
