Is It Safe To Take Tenovate For White Flakes And Itching?

Hallo



I am 36 years old Male

I have an itching (not continuous) on my hair in the back side - may be two spots particularly.

I get a white accumulated (white dandruff) comes out and when i consulted with Dr. they have advised for Tenovate GN - 10 grms to apply daily after bath in the morning.

What was the reason for this – White dandruff & is it safe to continue and is there any remedy to cure.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for flaking on scalp with two spots.

Tenovate GN contains Clobetasol in cream form can be used to reduce flaking on your scalp. If used for shorter period of time (less than 7-14 days) then do not cause any side effect and is very safe drug to be used.

But if used for longer time then it can lead to steroidal side effects. You should meet your treating dermatologist and take decision accordingly.

In my view simple proper washing is sufficient to take care of the flaking problem in scalp. I suggest you to wash scalp daily by proper rinsing and using a shampoo containing ketoconazole 2 % lotion in it.
