Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently got out of the hospital with pneumonia. While there they of course asked several times if I was pregnant. I said no. The day I came home I realized my period was in fact late took a test and found out I am pregnant. They sent me home with antibiotics and a steroid which both say do not use if pregnant. Should I be concerned that I took them while unknowingly pregnant?
if you've completed the treatment then there is nothing you can do right now. Taking drugs when pregnant is discouraged. Although there are certain drugs which are considered safe, in most cases the drugs can be potentially harmful. Consult your gynecologist for confirmation of the pregnancy. Your doctor should be aware of the drugs that you've used. Unfortunately you haven't mentioned the drugs names, so I can't be more specific about it.
Kind Regards!
