Dear patient.
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

I can understand your concerns about safety of Augmentin and Ceftum in the first trimester of pregnancy. I will try my best to answer your question and guide you through this.

Augmentin is chemically coamoxiclav. FDA has labelled it as a category B drug. This means it can be taken during pregnancy with minimal adverse effects. Ceftum is a cephalosporin group of drug. FDA has labelled it as category B drug. It means it can be taken during during pregnancy with minimal adverse effects. I would recommend you to have a urine pregnancy test done to confirm your pregnancy.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
