Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
You seem to be having an inflammatory flare of acne i.e acne that is red, painful, pustular. Oral antibiotics like azithromycin are definitely an appropriate choice in case of inflammatory acne. However, instead of self medication I suggest you to visit a dermatologist for an appropriate assessment of your skin condition. Oral retinoids e.g Isotretinoin is also an option apart from oral antibiotics, specially for acne that is moderately severe and recurrent, therefore, it is important that you visit a specialist for complete assessment. Besides oral treatment, topical antiacne preparations like clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide and topical retinoids like adapalene are part of the overall treatment of acne. Besides oral and topical antiacne treatment, you may also opt for a few sessions of chemical peeling from your treating dermatologist.
