Is It Safe To Take Isotroin For Acne?
hi , i am 26 yrs old female.i have acne problem for which my doctor prescribd me Azifast 500mg for 3 days in a week for 4 weeks along with cleargel to be aplied twice daily and tridloc to be applied at night. After a month since there was no improvement, he prescribed me "ISOTROIN" 10mg FOR 2 WEEKS after breakfast and dinner. Please tell me is it safe to have this medicine?

Isotroin is Isotretinoin which is an oral retinoid: For severe acne OR for acne unresponsive to traditional anti-acne medications, Isotretinoin can be started. It the only drug which offers any chance of long term cure and after a full course of isotretinoin significant number of people never have a recurrence of there acne. It should be taken under the supervision of a dermatologist because of certain lab tests which are to be done before and during treatment with isotretinoin.
Caution: Females on Isotretinoin should not get pregnant while on isotretinoin and for 1 month after discontinuing it, because it can cause fetal abnormalities. It is advisable to use a contraception method while on isotretinoin.
In addition to oral retinoids you must also use topical antiacne remedies e.g benzoyl peroxide gel.
