Is It Safe To Take Overdose Of Cetirizine Hydrochloride?
Hi I have taken cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg one a day but I have been bitten so much that it s not working very well can I take another one only this time I am scratching so much I have put cream one to help with this but I am stills crating please help
Hello, Thank you for posting your question to HCM.
20 mg of Cetirizine is not overdose. More than that would not help with the itchiness. Using a steroid cream may help. I would give my patients hydrocortisone or betamethasone cream, thin layer, max twice day. Scratching makes it more itchy. Rubbing over it, putting ice or something cold may be better and help. Make sure to use something against what its biting you. Medicines help with the symptoms, but if you continue getting bitten, the lesions may get infected.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other question. Dr. Klarida Papaqako.
