I took secnidazole a couple weeks ago for a yeast infection and i did not knoe i was pregnant, i did a pharmacy test before taking the medication and it was negative, but now, three weeks later i did a new one and it's positive, i want to know if the baby might be affected by the medication, thanks.
Antifungal medications are generally not recommended in early pregnancy, however you don't even have a fetus until 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. You had just conceived when you took the medication so it was much too early an exposure to have any effect on the baby.
So I hope I was able to reassure you and that you have a healthy pregnancy.
Best wishes, Dr. Brown
