Is It Safe To Take Two Contraceptive Pills At A Time?

My doctor put me on junel birth control around the clock without coming off of it to have my cycle. He is wanting my cycle to stop for now. He gave me a sample pack of minastrin and told me to take them for three days if I try to start my cycle anyway. My question is is it okay for me to take the two medications together or should I just take the minastrin for three days and then go back to the junel

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
It is usually not recommended to have two oral contraceptive pills together, as the hormonal load in the body increases tremendously and it can lead to various side effects on the body like hypertension, diabetes and increased risk of deep venous thrombosis and stroke.
I will suggest you to continue with one pill, and take it continously, if no periods are desired.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
