My sister in India is in 8th (almost 9th) month of pregnancy. Following persistent itching, she tested high SGPT/SGOT levels. SGPT level is 99 and SGOT is 81. She has been advised to take Udiliv 300mg twice daily. Would like to know if it is a serious condition, is it ok to take such medication and potential effect on the baby. Is there any need for premature delivery? Thanks.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion it might be intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy.Dont worry it is the condition seen in pregnancy in a few people. It might not lead to complications but sometimes premature labour might happen.Udiliv is safe and can be taken in pregnancy. The condition spontaneously subsides after delivery.
