Is It Safe To Take Yasmin After Going Off Cerazette?

While breastfeeding my son I was taking Cerazette to prevent pregnancy. I experienced no periods during the 5 or so months I was on Cerazette. Now that my son is weaned, I want to switch from Cerazette to Yasmin as I have always done very well on Yasmin in the past. I felt like I should stop the Cerazette, and wait to have a period before beginning Yasmin. I stopped taking Cerazette about 2 1/2 weeks ago and have still not experienced a period though I have had PMS type symptoms associated with an oncoming period. Pregnancy tests are negative. Is it safe to go ahead and begin Yasmin at this time? If so, is there a particular day I should start? Don t want to go too long unprotected from pregnancy!
