Is It Safe To Use Benadryl Cream For Insect Bite On Thigh?
HI I GOT BIT BY SOME TYPE OF INSECT YESTERDAY EVENING AND TODAY ITS ABOUT 3 INCHES WIDE AND 1 IN HALF, ITS RED SWOLLEN ITCHES AND HOT TO THE TOUCH I APPLYED BENADRLY CREAM AND HAVE BEEN PUTTING COLD CLOTHS ON TI ITS ON MY UPPER THIGH,,, DEBATING WHETHER TO GO TO THE ER
As per your query you have insect bite and you applied benedryl cream on it . Well it is totally safe to use benadryl in case of insect bite as it is anti histamine drug and relieve inflammation due to allergic reaction . But i would suggest you to consult doctor if condition doesn't improve in 48 hours , because sometimes there is sting on insect inside wound , poison in wound which can spread to surrounding or there may be anaphylactic shoch . Doctor may give adrenaline shot or some antidote to counter the attack of poison .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
