Hello Muneeb.. Welcome to HCM.. I have gone through your query about using betnovate for long term and its side effects.. As per your complain Betnovate is a steroid based cream containing Betamethasone and is suitable for long term use.. If you have dark spots on face, it can be suitable in fading them off but it has side effects on long term use like skin thinning, pimples, increased hairgrowth on face, dialated veins under the skin etc.. Even after stopping the use of the cream the spots can become more prominent again.. I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated for the cause and the nature of the dark spots.. You can be advised to gradually stop the steroid cream use to prevent withdrawal symptoms and he can give you safer depigmentation creams like kojic acid containing creams, vitamin E gels, creams containing Licorice and grapeseed extract.. You can also be advised certain techniques likechemical peeling, microdermabrasion, dermal rollers etc.. Hope this helps.. Regards.
