Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dr Samuel.I was diagonised reflux esophagitis 8 years and managed it with home remedies well. Now I have similar symptoms and have been prescribedRabekind plus and cyclpam for pain as and when needed.I want to know if its safe and the side effects of them esp cyclopam as I am 63 yrs.Kindly advise. Geetha.
After reading your post, I would inform you that dicyclomine(cyclopam) is not indicated for reflux esophagitis. Its main indication is spasmodic pain in abdomen. Rabeprazole present in Rabikind plus helps in controlling gastritis and reflux esophagitis.
Each medicine has some or other side effects. Main side effects of dicyclomine are dry mouth, vomiting, constipation, abdominal bloating, dizziness, headache, etc.
I would suggest that you can take Rabeprazole for esophagitis while dicyclomine should be taken if spasmodic pain is present in your abdomen.
I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks.
