Is It Safe To Use Doxycycline And Benzoyl Peroxide For Severe Acne?

I am having a bad skin reaction my acne has worsening after I used a cream that might contain a topical steroid. now my doctor has prescribed adacin gel, doxycycline and benzoyl peroxide gel. my question is will this combination really help and can the adacin and benzoyl peroxide gel be used together?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query doctor prescribed Doxycycline and Benzoyl peroxide for severe acne which is a safest combination to use. If doctor prescribe you to take this medicine at some particular time then you should strictly take medicine as per prescription otherwise it may have adverse effect . Beside that i would suggest you to wash your face with face-wash containing salicylic acid , exfoliate your skin once a week , apply raw honey on acne for 15 minutes daily and then wash , drink plenty of water and eat fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Adacin and benzoyl peroxide gel can be taken together with proper prescription from dermatologist. Micro-abrasion, peeling and dermabrasion are other methods to remove acne.
