Is It Safe To Use Endogest For Fibroid During Pregnancy ?
Hello DOctor, My wife is pregnant of 6 weeks old. I had a TVS scan done and doctor stated thazt there is a fibroid and suggested to use Endogest 200mg. Is it safe ? she said that there is no sign of baby heart beat as its 6 weeks now. Please advise what can be done next ?
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. The purpose of the endogest is to help maintain the pregnancy, and yes it is totally safe in pregnancy. However, by six weeks the heart beat should be easy to see, and it is likely that the endogest may not help with the pregnancy since there is no heartbeat.
Perhaps your doctor thought that the fibroid might have obscured her view so she could not see the heartbeat. If that is the case, the endogest might help. However, the fibroid will also not be affected at all by the endogest.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Good luck with the pregnancy.
Regards, Dr. Saul Weinreb
