Gentak contains gentamicin that belongs to the group of antibiotic medications known as aminoglycoside antibiotics is used in the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye like conjunctivitis or blepharitis and eyelids. This medication is relatively safe for eye infections if it is used in the form, dose and duration as directed by the prescribing doctor. This medication is usually not for long term use. You should not start or stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor first. Again, if your eye condition doesn't get better while using this medication, then you should inform your doctor immediately for medical attention.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
