Is It Safe To Use Mucaine Gel For Gastritis During Pregnancy?
Hi I m a 8th month pregnant women, I have a heavy gastric problem. I was consult a doctor, she suggest me to take this mucaine gel. But I m very much worried about having this after read the side effects of this mucaine gel... So please can u give me an idea, whether using this at my pregnancy is safe or not?
Hello dear Understand your concern In my practice I prescribed mucaine gel severe and moderate gastritis and ranitidine & pantoprazole for mild gastritis. Mucaine is anesthetic antacid suspension contain aluminium hydeoxide and mg hydroxide and relieve the gastritis. One or two teaspoonful 4 times daily should be taken 4 times daily 15-20 minutes before the meal and at bed time. Dose requirement will depend on symptoms of gastritis like gas, dyspepsia, burning pain etc. preferably should be taken undiluted. It is very safe during pregnancy and does not any adverse effect on pregnancy and its outcome. Along with take following advice: avoid spicy and oily foods, take small frequent meal rather than large meal, walk after meal and do not go directly to bed after meal, avoid eating at odd time and avoid meal at late night, drink cold milk or buttermilk at night if you have not milk allergy, avoid stress.
