Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My name is Charmi Somaiya & age is 30 yaers. I am suffering from acne on my face from last 4 years. My skin is v.oily. I have tried many medicines but nothing has provided me satisfied & permanent result. My one of freind has suggestted me to try Oxyderm-A gel for acne. I have no idea that should i try this or not.So, can you guide me How, how much & how many times i have to apply this.
As per your query you have facial acne which can occur when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum, dead skin and bacteria get infected. It is not advisable to randomly use any medication as described by your friend as it can lead to adverse reaction as well.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to: - Wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day - Drink 5-6 glasses of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet - Avoid any steroid based cream - Apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day as this is safe and natural extract of cereals.
If symptoms keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once and get it examined. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari, Dentist
