Is It Safe To Use Burnout Method In Weightlifting Where In U Start With Heavy Weight And Drop In Increments?
i have a question about weight lifting.is it ok to use the burnout method where in u start with heavy weight and drop in increments until u cant lift 5 lbs and how long can u trian like this without damage if any.i am 43 and started working out again 6 weeks ago 6 days a week 4 days weights and 6 cardio
Hello, I think I can help you. It is safe to perform the burnout method. You are just fatiguing your muscles to point that they can no longer lift much weight. This is actually the goal of many weight-lifters...to push themselves to the point of fatigue. However, the important thing is that you get adequate rest inbetween work-out sessions if you want to avoid injury. For example, don't exercise the same muscle group for more than one day in a row, and make sure you have at least one day of rest inbetween. Ideally you should exercise each muscle group one time per week. Also, make sure you don't have any cardiac or pulmonary issues before you engage in this type of exercise. If not, go right ahead and good luck on your body-building en devours.
