Is It Safe To Use Creams Containing Epidermal Growth Factor?
Dear Doctor,
I have purchased a herbal cream that helps breast lifting but i noticed it contains Epidermal growth factor (EGF) with the following sentence "small mitogenic protein that is thought to be involved in mechanisms such as normal cell growth". I personally got worried as i heard EGF can be harmful and cancerous for it being in such products for face &/or body!
Please assist me. Is it safe? Not to mention they said the herbal cream should only be on the skin of the breast as in no interaction with the nipples.

nothing to worry .epidermal growth factor is a normal protien present in the human body which is needed for cell growth differentiation and proliferation. normally everybody has this epidermal growth factor. in cancer patients this epidermal growth factor increases in amount which is the reason for abnormal multiplication and abnormal cell growth in cancer.
if it is applied as a cream it will be used for maintaining the skin texure. nothing wrong will happen
this one is for the benificial effect of the epidermal growth factor.

Epidermal growth factor is necessary in normal individual for cell growth and proliferation.
It is used in herbal preparations for this beneficial effect of skin looking younger.
When applied externally it has no bad effect.
In cancer this factor gets increased in the body leading to abnormal cell growth
