Is It Sufficient To Eliminate Gluten In Diet For Diarrhea And Inconsistent Stools?
Hi I am a 30 year old male and for the past 12 months my stools have changed from large and well formed to now very inconsistent from rabbit sized pellets to diarrhea. I have never had any allergies and have tried eliminating lactose, and gluten, but nothing helps. Seems like I have to go to the bathroom all the time, then all of a sudden it will all go away for a few weeks only to return again and again. Stools are regularly pencil thin and ribbon like but then every once in awhile will be well formed. No blood but a lot of particles and mucous. Takes a lot of toilet paper to clean up. I only drink water, no soda no alcohol. Any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated,
You need proper diagnostics. Stool size usually indicates intestine size. If the stool gets thin, your intestine in some part can be very narrow. It is caused partial bowels obstruction. The symptoms can come and go. Bloating and cramping can appear and disappear after stool passage. Particles in the stool and thin stool can be caused by some inflammatory bowels disease like Crohns disease. That is why I suggest you to visit gastroenterologist. Colonoscopy should be considered.
Hope this will help. Regards.
