Is It To Concerned About The Abnormality In The Anteroseptal Leads In ECG Report?

hi Sir. My mother is aged 51. We are a typical Indian Family (with that you can guess the fooding habbits easily). Recently, in a routine check-up, we got her ECG report which says (in the comment section): SINUS RHYTHM T ABNORMALITY IN ANTEROSEPTAL LEADS HR 69/MIN RR 875 ms P 100 ms PR 140 ms QRS 72 ms QT 404 ms QTC 434 ms Axis P 28 QRS 46 T 39 P (II) 0.14 mV S (VI) -0.75mV R (V5) 1.30 mV Please suggest what it may mean.

Welcome to health care magic. Thank you for posting your query.
I can understand your query.

Let me solve your queries.

1. Sinus rhythm - normal
2. Heart rate - normal
3. P wave - normal
4. PR interval - normal
5. Axis - normal
6. QTc - normal
7. T wave abnormality - It can be due to many reasons. There can be a flat T wave , tall T wave , inverted T wave. They usually occur normall or due to myocardial infarction (heart attack) , myocardial ischaemia(low blood flow to the heart) , pericarditis (inflammation of covering of heart ) - worst case scenarios.

An abnormal EKG must be followed up and examined along with other tests and clinical examination. EKG is just a screening tool. It would have been better had I seen the EKG.

Do not worry . I can understand about the fooding habits. Tell her to have a balanced diet with loads of vegetables. At least 2 fruits a day. Add to this walking may be for half an hour a day for 5 days a week.

I would suggest you to visit a clinician if she develops symptoms like chest pain , breathlessness . He/she can examine her and correlate clinically.

Hope this helps.

Post any other question.

Have a nice day. regards
