Is Itching Along With Sores Around The Genitals Due To Herpes?
Hi , I am 22 weeks pregenant with my first child and my last dr s appointment confirmed that i had a baldder infection, my dr gave me antibiotics but now i have this rash just around my genitals and it looks like sores that pop every now and again...is this a sign of herpes and can this harm my bby?
Yes it can be very dangerous to the baby at delivery. There is some theoretical risk earlier but it is not generally regarded as worth bothering about. at DELIVERY, it's a really bad risk of a HORRIBLE infection if the baby gets herpes at delivery. SO, you'll want to be checked immediately and if the sores cannot be ruled as NOT herpes (yeast infection is very common in this context also) then prevention of infection with taking anti-herpes drugs at delivery is required. herpes can be transmitted to the baby at delivery EVEN IF THERE ARE NO SORES AT THAT TIME. so, it needs to be ruled out OR PREVENTIVE DRUGS AT DELIVERY must be given
